Since my last free inquiry blog post I have been working on how to best narrow my topic from “film” to an aspect of film which I could focus on. I have been able to narrow my topic to film editing. Throughout the semester I hope to be able to explore the ways in which different types of scenes are edited, the intention of the editor, and the effect that editing technique has on the viewer.
My current ideas of types of editing within scenes are: (A good example of each)

I intend on attempting to find one more type of scene in which editing is essential for the emotion and feel of the film but currently I am unsure of the last one. If anyone has suggestions of types of scenes which I could focus on I am very open to suggestions.
